Study on Tobacco Control Inspection and Complaints in Beijing in 2020
Objective To understand the status of tobacco control inspection and complaints in Beijing,and to evaluate the implementation of"Regulations of Beijing Municipality on smoking control"by governments,and to provide the evidence for policy making.Methods All the subdistricts in six urban districts of Beijing were recruited as the objects of study.Data of tobacco control inspection and complaints were collected and used to calculate the score of tobacco control inspection and the number of tobacco control complaints per 10 000 residents in Beijing in 2020.Results A total of 134 subdistricts were recruited.The average score of tobacco control inspection was 89.3±6.5,and the number of tobacco control complaints per 10 000 residents was 9.7±9.3 respectively.Significant differences were observed in both the score of tobacco control inspection and the number of tobacco control com-plaints per 10 000 residents(P<0.001).Relatively fewer restaurants(58.7%),indoor farmer's markets(52.5%),in-ternet bars or entertainment venues(40.8%)and public restrooms(47.3%)passed all the items of tobacco control in-spection;and restaurants,office buildings and offices were the common places with tobacco control complaints,ac-counting for 28.6%,28.1%and 13.1%of all public places respectively.Conclusion The tobacco control situation of urban subdistricts was generally optimistic in Beijing,but the regulations should be strengthened in some areas.
