Mediating Effect of Social Support Between Self-management and Quality of Life in Patients with Non-alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease
Objective To investigate the mediating effect of social support level on self-management and quality of life in patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Methods A total of 650 patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease who underwent physical examination in a community health service center were selected as the study popula-tions by convenient sampling method from March 2022 to March 2023.Social support rating scale,self-management scale, and quality of life scale were used to conduct a questionnaire survey.AMOS 28.0 software was used to estab-lish a mediating effect model of self-management,social support, and quality of life of patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. The Bootstrap method was used to verify the mediating effect of social support. Results The total score of self-management,social support, and quality of life was(88.22±30.32),(24.94±6.57),and(44.08±10.35),respectively.The scores of social support were positively correlated with the scores of self-management and quality of life in patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(r=0.803,0.871,P<0.01).The score of quality of life was positively correlated with self-management score(r=0.789,P<0.01).Pathway analysis showed that self-mana-gement could directly affect the quality of life of patients with nonalcoholic fatty liver disease(effect value 0.252),and could also indirectly predict the quality of life through social support(effect value 0.536),with the intermediary effect value accounting for 68.02%of the total effect value(0.788).Conclusion Social support plays an important mediating role between self-management and quality of life in patients with non-alcoholic fatty liver disease,sugges-ting that community medical staff should focus on improving patients'self-management awareness and enable them to actively obtain social support,so as to improve their quality of life.
