The Status Quo of Medical Students'Professional Identity under the Background of Public Health Emergency
Objective To understand the status quo of medical students'professional identity and its influencing factors under the background of public health emergency.Methods A cluster sampling method was used to investi-gate 1 231 undergraduate students in two medical colleges in May 2022 by using demographic statistical question-naire and medical students professional identity scale.SPSS 26.0 software was used to perform data statistics,and the influencing factors of occupational identity were identified through univariate analysis and multiple stepwise re-gression analysis.Results The average scores of medical students'professional cognition,professional emotion,pro-fessional commitment,professional behavior,professional expectation,professional values and professional identity were(2.91±0.43),(3.64±0.60),(3.38±0.60),(3.58±0.55),(3.68±0.58),(3.61±0.48)and(3.46±0.43),respectively.There were significant differences in occupational identity among medical students with different demo-graphic characteristics(P<0.05).The results of multiple regression analysis showed that the major(nursing:β=-0.195,pharmacy:β=-0.142,public health and preventive medicine:β=-0.117,medical technology:β=-0.112,basic medicine:β=-0.102,stomatology:β=0.060),gender(male:β=0.110),and whether or not a student cadre(Yes:β=0.071)had a statistically significant effect on the professional identity of medical students(P<0.05).Conclusion Under the background of public health emergency,the overall structure and outcome of medical students'professional identity are stable.There are obvious differences in professional identity among different medical students.We should strengthen vocational education and career planning in combination with clinical teaching practice to improve the level of professional identity of different medical students.
