Analysis of Screen Exposure Chronotype,Influencing Factors and Its Impact on Sleep of Preschool Children in Haikou City
Objective To understand the impact of screen exposure on night sleep of preschool children,and to provide scientific reference for improving night sleep quality of school-age children in Haikou city.Methods A cross-sectional study was conducted in Haikou from June 2019 to June 2020.482 parents of preschool children were surveyed with self-made questionnaires.Watching more than one hour of electronic screen every day were defined as screen exposure.Demographic characteristics,screen exposure time,children's sleep habits and other information of the enrolled children were collected.Chi-square test and logistic regression analysis were used to explore the influen-cing factors of screen exposure of preschool children and its impact on night sleep.Results The screen exposure rate of preschool children on school days was 31.7%,lower than that on holidays(60.4%)(x2=123.8,P<0.001).7.1%of children exposed to the screen more than 4 hours on holidays.Whether on school days(r=0.18,P<0.01)or holidays(r=0.20,P<0.01),the longer the screen exposure time,the greater the impact on sleep problems of preschool children.There were relationship between screen exposure on school days and holidays and habitual use of electronic screens during meals were significant(OR=19.73,95%CI:6.29-61.83;OR=7.45,95%CI:2.03-27.28).Holiday screen exposure was also related to the number of electronic screen devices used(OR=2.15,95%CI:1.05-4.38).Conclusion The screen exposure rate of preschoolers in Haikou city is high,and affects sleep quality at night.It is necessary to arouse the attention of parents and relevant departments,and take scientific measures to re-duce the screen exposure rate and exposure time of preschoolers.
