Status and Influencing Factors of Personal Mastery in Elderly Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Patients
Objective To understand the current status of personal mastery in elderly patients with chronic ob-structive pulmonary disease(COPD)and analyze the influencing factors.Methods Using a convenience sampling method,210 hospitalized elderly COPD patients from a tertiary hospital in Shanxi province from April 2021 to De-cember 2021 were selected as participants.The General Information Questionnaire,Personal Mastery Scale,General Self-efficacy Scale,Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire and Perceived Social Support Scale were used for investiga-tion.Results The score of personal mastery in elderly patients with COPD was(21.88±3.66).The results of mul-tiple linear regression analysis showed that education level(high school/technical secondary school or above:β'=0.136),pulmonary function grade(level 3:β'=-0.285),active coping(β'=0.313),self-efficacy(β'=0.265)and perceived social support(β'=0.145)were the influencing factors of personal mastery in elderly COPD patients(P<0.05).Conclusion The level of personal mastery in elderly COPD patients needs to be improved.Medical staff should pay more attention to their sense of control,take targeted interventions to help patients improve their self-efficacy and active coping,and mobilize social support to enhance their level of personal mastery.
