Analysis of the Intermediary Effect of Social Support on Psychological Resilience and the Perceived Indeterminate Risk in Patients of First-episode Acute Stroke with Hemodialysis in Shiyan
Objective To investigate the current status of social support, disease uncertainty, and psychological re-silience among patients with acute stroke who were admitted to Shiyan city, and to explore the intermediary role of social support in psychological resilience and disease uncertainty. Methods From January to August 2022,220 inpa-tients with first acute stroke admitted to three tertiary care hospitals in Shiyan city,Hubei province were selected by convenience sampling method, and they were investigated by using general information questionnaire,Social Support Rating Scale,Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale and Mishel Uncertainty in Illness Scale for Adults. And the data were analyzed by correlation test using SPSS 23.0 software, and AMOS 23.0 software and Bootstrap method were used to construct the model and analyze the mediating effects of the data. Results The scores of disease uncertainty(73.19±11.39),mental toughness(21.98±8.23),and social support(35.39±8.89)were negatively correlated with disease uncertainty and mental toughness and social support, and positively correlated with mental toughness and social support in first-episode acute stroke patients in Shiyan.Social support played a partial mediating effect between men-tal toughness and disease uncertainty in first acute stroke in Shiyan, with the mediating effect accounting for 28.47%of the total effect. Conclusion Social support has a mediating effect between mental toughness and disease uncertain-ty,and by increasing the level of social support, patients can effectively strengthen their mental toughness and even-tually improve the level of disease uncertainty.
