The Effect of Social Support on Learning Burnout among Middle School Students during Sudden Public Health Emergencies:A Chain Mediating Effect of Resilience and Internet Addiction
Objective To investigate the effect of social support on learning burnout and the chain mediating role of resilience and internet addiction among middle school students during sudden public health emergencies.Methods Using Social Support Scale for Adolescents,10-item Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale,Internet Addiction Disorder Diagnostic Scale for Middle School Students and Adolescent Student Burnout Inventory,34 549 students from 15 middle schools in Chengdu were selected for the survey using the simple random cluster sampling method,and 30 664 valid questionnaires were collected.The Spearman correlation analysis was used to explore the relationship between social support,learning burnout,resilience and internet addiction.The macro program PROCESS was used to inspect the chain mediating effect of resilience and internet addiction between social spport and learining burnout.Results Resilience and internet addiction partially mediated the effect between social support and learning burnout respective-ly(β1=-0.184,β2=-0.049,P<0.05).Meanwhile,"resilience-internet addiction"played a chain mediating role be-tween social support and learning burnout(β=-0.026,P<0.05).Conclusion During sudden public health emergen-cies,social support influences learning burnout not only directly,but also through the indirect paths of resilience and internet addiction,and the chain mediating path of"resilience-internet addiction".
