Analysis of Tobacco Epidemic Status and It's Influencing Factors among Art College Students in Wuhan
Objective To analyze tobacco epidemic status and it's influencing factors among art college students,and to provide basis for further health education and health promotion of tobacco control in art colleges.Methods A tobacco epidemic questionnaire survey was conducted in September 2019 among 1 920 students in an art college in Wuhan by using stratified random cluster sampling method.The chi-square test was used to analyze the comparison of smoking rates,and the logistic regression analysis was used to assess the influencing factors of current smoking behavior.Results The attempted smoking rate among art college students was 26.58%(504/1 896).The attempted smoking rate of male students was 47.20%(261/553);the female students'rate was 18.09%(243/1 343),the rate of males was higher than that of females(x2=170.00,P<0.01).The average age of attempted smoking was(15.00±3.15)years old.The current smoking rate among art college students was 15.98%(303/1 896),and the daily smo-king rate was 7.91%(150/1 896).Among current smokers,49.50%(150/303)of college students were daily smo-kers.The main place for art college students to smoke was in dormitories,accounting for 37.29%(113/1 593).Lo-gistic regression analysis results showed that male(OR=3.824,95%CI:2.826-5.175),drinking alcohol(OR=6.353,95%CI:4.708-8.573),fathers education level of primary school or below(OR=2.135,95%CI:1.130-4.031),family smoking(OR=5.258,95%CI:3.542-7.805)were the influencing factors of current smoking behavior among art college students.Conclusion The key population for smoking control work in art colleges were male,drinking,students whose fathers had an education level of primary school or below,and those whose family members smoked.
