Study on the Efficiency and Influencing Factors of Public Hospitals in Guangdong Province by DEA-Tobit Method
Objective Based on the panel data of public hospitals in Guangdong Province from 2018 to 2022,this paper evaluated the efficiency and its influencing factors to improve the efficiency of public hospitals.Methods The DEA-BCC model and the DEA-Malmquist model were used for analysis of efficiency,and the Tobit regression model was used to analyze the main influencing factors.Results The average value of efficiency of public hospitals in Guangdong was 0.927 8,and the total factor productivity fluctuated in different years.54.29％of cities showed decreasing scale efficiency,and 66.7％of cities'total factor productivity decreased mainly due to technical factors.According to the regression results of the Tobit model,the number of doctors,the size of the house and the per capita cost had significant effect on the efficiency(P＜0.05).Conclusion There were differences in efficiency among different regions in different years.Allocating resources reasonably,enhancing medi-cal technologies,avoiding the unreasonable expansion of public hospitals,reducing the medical expenses of patients are conducive to further improving the efficiency level.
