The curative effect of Ganciclovir in the treatment of pediatric hand foot andmouth disease and viral encephalitis
Objective To explore the curative effect of Ganciclovir in the treatment of pediatric hand foot and mouth disease (HFMD) and viral encephalitis. Methods A total of 106 children with HFMD complicated with viral encephalitis were enrolled. The patients were divided into two groups. The control group received regular treatment, while the research group received regular treatment plus Ganciclovir. The therapeutic effects of the two groups were compared. Results The overall effective rate of the research group was better than that of the control group (P<0.05).The antifebrile time, consciousness recovery time, convulsion control time, and time for nausea and vomiting symptoms to disappear, were significantly lower in the research group than in the control group (P<0.05).Conclusion Ganciclovir can significantly shorten the antifebrile time during the treatment of HFMD complicated with viral encephalitis, thus strengthening the curative effect.
