Respiratory system disease has always been at a high morbidity and mortality rate in elderly patients.Endoscopic technology is playing an increasingly important role in the treatment of respiratory system disease in elderly patients.With the increase of age and/or the severity of the disease,the lung function of elderly patients will show a significant downward trend.In addition to common and frequently occurring diseases,most elderly patients also have organic lung diseases.Therefore,the application of endos-copy in elderly respiratory system disease needs to be summarized and explored.This article reviews the general classification and pro-gress of endoscopes and their application in respiratory system disease of the elderly in combination with my own practical work,so as to provide reference for the application of endoscopes in respiratory system disease of the elderly.
