Analysis of Infection and Drug Resistance of Klebsiella pneumoniae in the ICU of a Hospital in Wuhan
Objective To analyze the distribution and drug resistance of Klebsiella pneumoniae isolated from the Intensive Care Unit(ICU)of Union Hospital,Tongji Medical College,Huazhong University of Science and Technology from January 2017 to December 2021,so as to provide the reference for clinical rational use of antibiotics. Methods Between January 2017 and December 2021,a total of 978 Klebsiella pneumoniae strains were isolated from different specimens in the intensive care unit of Union Hospital,Tongji Medical College,Huazhong University of Science and Technology. The clinical distribution and drug resistance were retrospectively analyzed. Results The majority of Klebsiella pneumoniae isolated from the ICU of our hospital in the last 5 years was from sputum samples, accounting for 73.42%.Drug sensitivity results showed that the resistance rate of Klebsiella pneumoniae to most antibiotics showed an overall increasing trend. The resistance rates to cefepime, ceftriaxone, cefuroxime, ceftazidime and cefoperazone/sulbactam increased from 62.96%,64.44%,66.67%,62.04%and 53.27%to 83.99%,85.10%,86.60%,80.90%and 72.00%,respectively.In addition,carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae accounted for 66.77%.Conclusions Compared to Klebsiella pneumoniae in CHINET in 2021,the drug resistance rate of Klebsiella pneumoniae isolated from our hospital's intensive care unit to antibiotics was greater, and there was a high isolation rate of carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae. The hospital should strengthen the detection of drug resistance to pathogens, guide clinicians to use rationally and control the prevalence of drug-resistant strains in the hospital.Meanwhile,ICU medical should be trained in nosocomial infection control.
