Clinical Pharmacist's Participation in the Treatment of a Child with Carbapenem Resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae Infection
Objective To provide experience reference for the treatment of children with carbapenem-resistant Klebsiella pneumoniae(CRKP)infection.Methods The clinical pharmacist participated in the anti-infective treatment of a child with CRKP lung and bloodstream infection.The clinical pharmacist worked with the physician to create customized medication delivery strategies by analyzing the literature,taking into account the unique characteristics of the children,and considering the PK/PD of antibiotics.Results The physician adopted the pharmacist's suggestion and treated the child with tigecycline combined with meropenem.The infection of the child was effectively controlled,and there were no drug-related adverse reactions.Conlusion It is of great significance for clinical treatment for clinical pharmacists to assist physicians in adjusting and optimizing medication regimens.Meropenem plus tigecycline may be used to treat severe CRKP infection in children older than 8 years old.
