Recent Developments of Indole Derivatives with anti-Acinetobacter baumannii Potential
Acinetobacter baumannii,a conditionally pathogenic Gram-negative pathogen,is infamous for its capacity to cause hospital-acquired severe systemic infections. There is an urgent need to develop novel anti-Acinetobacter baumannii agents because the current anti-Acinetobacter baumannii agents are crucial in the fight against infections caused by drug-sensitive,while there are few options available for infections caused by pan-resistant or multidrug-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii.Indoles can act in various bacterial targets and have potential therapeutic effects on various Acinetobacter baumannii infections, representing useful scaffolds for exploring novel anti-Acinetobacter baumannii agents. The goal of this review is to give theoretical support for the future discovery of novel drug candidates by highlighting the current state of indole derivatives with promise against Acinetobacter baumannii that have been created between 2020 and the present.
