Extraction of benzene from n-hexane:Screening of mixed extractants and liquid-liquid equilibrium data measurements
Organic solvents cannot have both high solubility and high selectivity during aromatics extraction.A variety of extractants were screened by COSM-RS model, and the liquid-liquid balance data of benzene+n-hexane+mixed extractants were determined by liquid-liquid equilibrium experiments. The results show that the mass ratio of N-methylpyrrolidone(NMP)to sulfolane(SUL)=1:4 is the best extractant.Othmer-Tobias and Hand equations were used to verify the reliability of the experimental data, and NRTL and UNIQUAC models were used for experimental data regression. The calculated results were in good agreement with the experimental data. The results indicate that both models can be used for the calculation of aromatics extraction and provide data support for industrial aromatics extraction simulation.
