To further enhance the openness level of border areas,China is actively exploring the establishment of cross-border tourism cooperation zones. After years of construction,the Sino-Vietnam Detian-Ban Gioc Water-fall Cross-Border Tourism Cooperation Zone has completed a successful trial operation and accumulated construc-tion experience,including the establishment of a working mechanism for domestic and foreign coordination,the in-novation of a non-port border tourism model,the facilitation of customs clearance procedures for tourists,the con-struction of a safe tourism environment in the cooperation zone,the enhancement of the quality of tourism services,and the establishment of a cross-border tourism cooperation friend-city relationship. However,there are still related development problems in the cooperation zone. Based on this,this paper proposes promotion strategies such as inno-vating support policies for cross-border tourism cooperation zones,consolidating infrastructure construction,enrich-ing high-quality tourism patterns and routes,enhancing tourism marketing capabilities,strengthening cultural and tourism talent team building,and continuously enhancing tourism safety,to accelerate the development of cross-bor-der tourism between China and Vietnam and provide valuable reference and experience for the construction of cross-border tourism cooperation zones in other regions in China.
