THE CONSTRUCTION OF METAPHORICAL REPRESENTATION IN THE SENSE OF COMMUNITY FOR THE CHINESE NATION
The sense of community for the Chinese nation is an abstract psychological concept.In terms of cog-nition,affection and volition,it is manifested respectively as the positive cognition on the Chinese national communi-ty and common values,the positive emotion of proximity to and pride in the community,and the volitional tendency of willingness to take action for the community.Metaphors in psychological roots of the Chinese nation all reflect the tendency towards common volition.For example,the perception of containers and space derives the community cog-nition of Home,Country and the World;vertical space thinking cultivates the value concept of uprightness and good-ness;the red color carries the emotional consensus of the Chinese nation;and the concept of size integrates the con-cept construction of self.The metaphor construction and interpretation of the sense of community for the Chinese nation can be started from such four dimensions as container metaphor,vertical space metaphor,red color metaphor and size metaphor,which can be presented in a concrete way in the thinking operation of Coexistence in a contain-er,incorporation of laws and objects,integration of cognition and emotion,and future spread of fame by morality.
