The Southwest has a vast territory,complex environment,warm and humid climate,and a rich variety of"local products",such as high-quality timber,tea,raw lacquer,and large livestock.The ethnic groups living in the region have strengthened the communication of ethnic cultures and ethnic contacts through the exchange of"local products",achieving the integration of regional ethnic groups.These contents have been recorded in the section of"Maps of Hundred Miao"of the Qing Dynasty's ethnic illustrated records,such as Huangqing Zhigong Tu(The Maps of Official Rankings in the Qing Dynasty),Qiannan Miaoman Tushuo(The Map Illustration of Miao Aborigi-nals in Southern Guizhou),and Yiren Tushuo(The Map Illustration of Non-Han People).Combining with the local chronicles and factual records,deepening the research is of great value for exploring the history of ethnic contact,communication,and integration in the Southwest,and for forging a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation.
