FAMILY,VILLAGE,AND MARKET:THE DECLINE AND REMODELING OF TRIPLE"NATIVE"SOCIAL NETWORK:Taking Mulao's Habitation in Northwest Guangxi as an Example
The evolution of traditional social network of ethnic areas in the process of modernization is an important window to observe the changes of social relations.Based on the investigation of the triple circles of family, village and market in the Mulao ethnic area in northwest Guangxi,it is found that social mobility, modern civiliza-tion and media technology have intensified the decline and reconstruction of the"primary"social network;and the relationship network and mutual support system composed of kinship and geography have become increasingly relax-ed,showing such characteristics as time and space continuity,de-territorialization,and marketization. In the process of ethnic areas'moving towards rural revitalization and common prosperity,it is necessary to reshape the"root"and"soul"of Mulao's new social network, and is of great significance for the development of ethnic areas to parallel and pay equal attention to both the remodeling of"native"social network and the construction of new social network.
