THE EVOLUTION LOGIC AND ANALYSIS OF THE CONCEPTS OF"STATE"AND"NATION"FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF FORGING A STRONG SENSE OF COMMUNITY FOR THE CHINESE NATION
"State"and"Nation"have been one of the core issues in the theoretical study of forging a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation,but also been the two concepts with relatively ambiguous meaning.This paper,through the knowledge-archaeology analysis of China versus the West,the state in the history and in the cur-rent context,and the concept of nation,concludes that the two terms belong to different socio-historical categories and human communities,and that their genealogical origin and development context are not completely consistent:"State"has a strong political connotation,emphasizing the authority and power of a country and its political rule and social management;while"Nation"has a strong cultural connotation,emphasizing a stable community of people formed by a common history,culture,language,customs and self-consciousness.The Chinese nation community is not only the sum and entirety of 56 ethnic groups,but also a national community formed under the framework of the country's great unification and modem and contemporary historical development,so forging a strong sense of commu-nity of the Chinese nation should be understood upon the basis of containing and transcending the concept of ethnic-ity and from the perspective of the nation as a whole,i.e.,the direction and core of theoretical study of forging a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation should be the state in leading status.The promotion of a correct understanding of the state and the nation and the establishment of a correct consciousness and concepts among every Chinese person have related not only to whether an individual can form an objective understanding of the state and the nation to which he or she belongs in line with the stage of development,but also to whether the state can unite the strengths of all the sons and daughters of the Chinese nation in realizing the historical task of jointly promoting the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
