CONSISTENT WITH THE CO-FLOW:THE THEORY AND CROSS-GENERATIONAL PRACTICE OF MR.LIU JIE'S LOGIC OF EDUCATION FOR ETHNIC MINORITIES
In the 1930s,Liu Jie,a renowned educationist from Guangxi,put forward the concept of"Consistent with the Co-flow",which considered it necessary to provide ethnic minorities with the opportunity to receive modern education.Under the discourse system at that time,he established the consciousness of developing"special ethnic education"and promoted the formation of a three-tier linkage mechanism of"special ethnic education committee","special ethnic school teacher training institute"and"special ethnic schools at grass-roots level".When faced with many difficulties in the practice of establishing"special ethnic school teacher training institute",he firmly cultivated teachers from special ethnic groups and promoted the study of customs and social governance in the concentrated living areas of ethnic minorities.Liu Jie's practice achieved remarkable results,but he disagreed with the political views of the Kuomintang authorities and was asked to resign.After the founding of the People's Republic of China,Liu Jie was given the opportunity to make a comeback and served as the principal of Guangxi Normal School for Nationalities.He participated actively in"three services"in the Institute of Ethnic Studies of Guangxi College of Nationalities and realized the sublimation of the concept of"Consistent with the Co-flow"under the guidance of Mao Zedong's view of nationalities.The concept has gradually become one of the cultural traditions of Guangxi University for Nationalities,and has kept pace with the times to paint the magnificent picture of the shared spiritual home of the Chinese nation.
