Field control efficacy trials of several nematicides on southern root-knot nematode
[Objective]The present study was conducted to test the field control efficacy of 8 kinds of pesticides on southern root-knot nematode in main crops of Guangxi, analyze efficacy stability of highly effective pesticides in different crops of varied regions, and provide references for production application. [ Method]By furrowing application and irrigating root, field control efficacies of such pesticides as lythidathion, avermectiti, verticillium chlamydosporium, carbosulfan, phoxim, praziquantel premix, chlmpyrifos and emamectin benzoate on southern root-knot nematode in banana, sugarcane, tomatoes, cucumbers, melons and tobacco were determined. [Result]10% nemathorin(GR) and 0.2% emamectin benzoate (EC), which average control efficacy were 86.16 and 85.24%, respectively, showed the best control effect on southern root-knot nematode and strong stability in different host plants of different areas, followed by 1.8% avermectin oil (average control efficacy of 81.47%) and 5% carbosulfan (average control efficacy of 77.26%). Traditional pesticides such as 50% phoxim, 5% praziquantel premix and 15% chlorpyrifos also displayed good performance in killing nematodes with control efficiency of around 70%, verticillium chlamydosporium showed ihe worst control efficacy of 50,97%. [Conclusion] Four kinds of pesticide, viz., lylhidathion, emamectin benzoate, avermeclin and carhosulfan had superior control efficacies on southern root-knot nematode in different crops of different regions, and could be applied and extended in production.
