Purification effect of Coix aquatica Roxb on sanitary sewage with chromium
[Objective]Purification effect of Coix aquatica Roxb on sanitary sewage with chromium as well as physiology and biochemistry of Coix aquatica Roxb under chromium stress were studied to provide theoretical support for wastewater depuration containing chromium in constructed wetland.[Method]The barrel planting method was used to simulate artificial wetlands, and the Coix aquatica Roxb was used as materials.Sanitary sewage containing Cr(Ⅵ) (0,5,20,40,60 mg/L K2Cr2O7)was regularly watered to determine COD and TP value and POD,SOD and MDA of Coix aquatica Roxb leaf.[Result]COD removal rate decreased with the increasing concentration of chromium. The removal rate of TP declined when the concentration of Cr(Ⅵ) rose, while with 5 mg/L Cr(Ⅵ) concentration, the rate was above 90 %.MDA content of Coix aquatica Roxb leaf increased with the increasing Cr(Ⅵ) concentration and processing time.SOD and POD activities of Coix aquatica Roxb leaf firstly increased and then decreased with the increasing processing time.[Conclusion] Coix aquatica Roxb can tolerate a certain concentration of Cr(Ⅵ) stress, and play an important role in water purification.
