Effects of different light qualities and transmittances on growth of Panax notoginseng seedlings
[Objective]The effects of different color films for covering greenhouse on growth situation of P.notoginseng seedlings were investigated to screen suitable light transmittance for growth of P.notoginseng seedlings in order to provide theoretical basis for producing healthy P.notoginseng seedlings.[Method]Three light transmittances (21.0%,10.0%,and 5.5% of full sunlight) were designed in the greenhouse covering with white film and blue film.The seeds of P.notoginseng were sowed in plastic pots.The plant traits,biomass accumulation and allocation of seedlings at transplanting stage were investigated and analyzed.[Result] Under white film covering greenhouse,excepting leaf number,root length,leaf biomass ratio and root biomass ratio,the other indices changed from increase to decrease with light transmittance decreasing.The seedlings grew well,and the plant height (12.34 cm),stem diameter(1.48 cm),tuberous root diameter(11.30 cm),root number(8.40/plant),root biomass,stem biomass,leaf biomass and total biomass(0.816 g),root/canopy ratio(2.882) and root biomass ratio(0.737) of P.notoginseng seedlings reached the highest in white film greenhouse under 10.0% of full sunlight.Meanwhile,excepting plant height,leaf number,tuberous root diameter and stem biomass,the stem diameter(1.50 cm),root length(15.36 cm),root number(10.50/plant),leaf biomass(0.139 g),root biomass(0.565 g),total biomass(0.747 g),root/canopy ratio (3.137) and root biomass ratio(0.755) of P.notoginseng seedling were found to be the highest in blue film greenhouse under 21.0% of full sunlight.Under 21.0% of full sunlight in blue film greenhouse,the plant height,stem diameter,leaf number,tuberous root diameter,root number,all biomass,root/canopy ratio,root biomass ratio and stem biomass ratio of P.notoginseng seedlings were higher than those in white film greenhouse.While it showed on the contrary under 10.0% of full sunlight,these indices of P.notoginseng seedlings were found to be higher in white film greenhouse than blue film greenhouse.[Conclusion]The white film greenhouse with 10.0% of full sunlight and blue film greenhouse with 21% of full sunlight are suitable for seedling growth of P.notoginseng.The results indicate that blue film is beneficial to the growth and biomass accumulation of P.notoginseng seedling under relatively high light.
