Fish Species Diversity of the Upper Xiangjiang River in North Guangxi Province
Fish Species diversity of the upper Xiangjiang river in north Guangxi Province were investigated seasonally from April 2014 to January 2015.A total of 81 freshwater fish species belonging to 5 orders,16 families and 55 genera have been recorded.Fish from the Cypriniformes was the main component of fish fauna in north Guangxi province of the upper Xiangjiang river and consisting of 62.96% of all species. The most dominant species were Zacco platypus, and Odontobutis sinensis, accounting for 25.76%,18.57% of total individuals, respectively. No significant difference was found in the months among the number of individuals but significant difference was observed among the species. For example, the fish diversity was high and species was abundant in the summer and autumn, while the fish diversity and species were relatively lower in the spring and winter.Simpson index (λ) was relatively larger in spring, while dominant species was the most obvious in the autumn.Besides Nonmetric Multidimensional Scalings ordination of fish assemblage from upper Xiangjiang river in the north of Guangxi Province. The results showed that fish communities of spatial variation were significantly different, but there was little apparent change associated with the seasons.
