Static analysis of water gates considering the contact between new and old gate chambers
A three-dimensional finite element model was established according to the structural characteristics of a middle-scale sluice.Taking into account the non-linear relationship of the contact between new and old gate cham-bers,the distribution law of stress and deformation of gate chambers under different operating conditions was calcu-lated and analyzed, based on which the stability calculation was conducted to examine structural safety and stability of sluice. The results of analysis demonstrate that under two regulation conditions, the maximum tensile stress are 1.13MPa and 1.01MPa,and the maximum compressive stress are 3.72MPa and 3.63MPa respectively, less than the permissible compressive and tensile strength values of C20 concrete;the safety factor against sliding and the unifor-mity coefficient of gate chambers both meet the requirements of specifications.
