Analysis of GNSS precise point positioning performance constrained by ERA5 atmospheric reanalysis data
The rapid development of Global Navigation Satellite System(GNSS)has effectively promoted the research and development of Precise Point Positioning(PPP)technology. To address the problem of long convergence time of GNSS PPP,the latest generation of ERA5 atmospheric reanalysis data released by the European Center for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts(ECMWF)was applied to the GNSS PPP solution.Taking the observation data of seven IGS monitoring stations in China as example,ERA5 constrained GNSS PPP solution and standard GNSS PPP solu-tion were conducted respectively. The results show that the convergence time of ERA5 constrained GNSS PPP is not significantly improved in the E and N directions, but the average convergence time in the U direction is reduced by 36.0%.In terms of positioning accuracy, the ERA5 constrained GNSS PPP scheme improves the accuracy in the E,N,and U directions by 10.0%,4.3%,and 21.8%on average respectively, with higher solution accuracy in the same time period, which indicates certain application value for the effective use of ERA5 atmospheric reanalysis data and the improvement of GNSS PPP positioning performance.
