Soil test analysis of main dam filling soil for Shijia Reservoir in Fuchan County
In order to analyze the causes for landslide occurred during the construction of plastic concrete cut-off wall for the main dam of Shijia Reservoir,geotechnical physical and mechanical property tests were carried out to find out the mechanical properties and filling quality of the filling soil of main dam body.The main causes for land-slide were pointed out including the poor filling quality of dam body,the infiltration of mud and rainwater into the dam body leading to the saturation of the expansive soil at the lower part of the dam body and the significant reduc-tion of the shear strength of soil.
