Methods and precautions for on-site compaction testing of dykes and dams
An introduction was made on the methods and precautions for on-site compaction testing of dykes and dams.Based on comparative test,the applicable scope,advantages and disadvantages of three testing methods were analyzed including cutting ring method,pumped sand method and pumped water method.If test is conducted by proper testing method and in conformity with the requirements of specifications and standards,accurate result can be obtained.Therefore,the appropriate method should be selected according to the type of soil sample,testing re-quirements and site conditions to ensure the accuracy of the testing results,and improve the construction quality of dykes and dams,ensure the safety and stability of water conservancy projects.
