Selection and hydraulic numerical analysis of water conveyance system for high head single-stage ship lock of Yangxi Hydraulic Complex
Located on Liujiang River in Guangxi,Yangxi Hydraulic Complex is a large-scale multi-purpose project privileged to flood control incorporating with power generation and navigation. It is designed with a 1000t-level Class Ⅲ ship lock with effective dimensions of 190m×23.5m×4.8m and the maximum design head of 32.8m.This ship lock will be a single-stage high head ship lock in Guangxi, second only to Datengxia Gorge Hydraulic Complex with a head of 40.25m.The ship lock water conveyance system is the most frequently operated working system. The higher the operating water head is,the greater the water level fluctuation in the lock chamber is under the require-ment of a certain passage time. The higher the level of the ship lock, the larger the size of lock chamber, the greater the water filling flow of lock chamber, the more obvious the fluctuation of the water surface in the lock chamber, and the higher the energy dissipation requirements for the water conveyance gallery.Structural dimension calculation of the water conveyance system was carried out according to the water delivery scale of ship lock. The results of hy-draulic numerical analysis under three typical operating conditions demonstrate the selected dimensions of lock wa-ter conveyance gallery conform to the hydraulic index requirements.
