A Systematic Review of Research Data Management Capability Maturity Assessment Models
The research data management capability maturity assessment model identifies and improves deficiencies in practices by comparing current research data management practices with best practices. This study aims to describe the current state of development of research data management capability maturity assessment models in the context of"Big Science."To this end,a systematic mapping study was conducted on a series of high-quality research results published in five related databases. The analysis of 30 research out-comes highlights the deficiencies and challenges in the field.Despite the gradual refinement of the concept of research data manage-ment,there is a lack of good consensus on the domain ontology among scholars, and the absence of objective factors in the models leads to insufficient innovation motivation in the field. In addition, there are issues with the unclear role positioning of management institu-tions in the assessment models and a significant lack of interaction between model construction and entities outside academia. The arti-cle hopes to provide new research directions and suggestions for the future study of research data management capability maturity assess-ment models.
