Factors Influencing Reader Recommendations in University Libraries:A Case Study of Two University Libraries in Changde City
Systematically analyzing the factors that influence reader recommendations in university libraries and their mechanisms of action is of great importance for building a full-cycle recommendation system and optimizing recommendation services in university libraries.It also enables university libraries to meet readers'resource needs more effectively.This study targets some librarians and visitors of two university libraries in Changde City.Through interviews,detailed indicators of factors influencing reader recommenda-tions were obtained to provide a basis for designing questionnaires.The questionnaire survey method was used to extract high-frequency words of influencing factors and to categorize them by themes;text mining and strategic coordinate graph tools were used to describe the importance and closeness of each influencing factor.The research results show that the importance of the influencing factors,in descending order,is as follows:recommendation cycle,acquisition principles,recommendation issues,recommendation policies,recommendation methods,recommendation motivations.The internal closeness of influencing factors is ranked in descending order as recommendation policies,acquisition principles,recommendation methods,recommendation issues,recommendation cycle,recommen-dation motivations.The attribution of influencing factors can be divided into two sides:the library and the readers.
