Objective To systematically evaluate the relation of preoperative Naples Prognostic Score(NPS)with operative prognosis in patients with gastric cancer.Methods Literature related to the relation of preoperative NPS with operative prognosis in patients with gastric cancer was collected by retrieving the databases of China National Knowledge Infrastructure,Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform,VIP,China Biomedical Literature Service System,PubMed,Web of Science,The Cochrane Library,and Embase.After screening literature enrolled,extracting data,and evaluating quality,the RevMan 5.3 software and Stata 15.0 software were used to perform a Meta-analysis.Results A total of 7 studies were enrolled,and there were 4673 cases of patients.The results of Meta-analysis revealed that the higher the preoperative NPS,the worse the postoperative overall survival of patients with gastric cancer(P＜0.05).Preoperative NPS was related to postoperative complications,nerve invasion,vascular invasion,carbohydrate antigen 125,and tumor stage in Ⅲ stage in patients with gastric cancer(P＜0.05).Conclusions Gastric cancer patients with low preoperative NPS have longer overall survival and lower incidence rate of postoperative complications,and preoperative NPS correlates with clinical and pathological characteristics of tumor patients,which can be used as a predictor for operative prognosis in patients with gastric cancer.
