Efficacy of the combination with Jianpi Yishen Huazhuo formula in treating polycystic ovary syndrome and its effects on serum sex hormone levels
Objective:To explore the efficacy of the medication combination with Jianpi Yishen Huazhuo formula in the treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS)and its effects on serum sex hormone levels.Methods:110 pa-tients with PCOS(yang deficiency of spleen and kidney type)were collected and randomly divided into two groups us-ing the random number table method,with 55 cases in each group.The control group received conventional basic treat-ment,while on this basis,the observation group received the administration of Jianpi Yishen Huazhuo formula.Then the data about clinical efficacy,the scoring of TCM syndrome,serum sex hormone levels,ovarian volume,and ovula-tion status in these two groups were collected and compared.Results:The total effective rate in the observation group was 96.36%,compared to 85.45%in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment,the TCM syndrome scoring in both groups decreased compared to those before treatment,and the scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).After treatment,levels of estradiol(E2)increased compared to those before treatment,while testosterone(T)and luteinizing hormone(LH)levels decreased.Additionally,the E2 levels in the experimental group were higher,and the T and LH levels were lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).There was no signifi-cant difference in follicle-stimulating hormone(FSH)level between the two groups before and after treatment(P>0.05).After treatment,the bilateral ovarian volume of both groups was reduced compared to that before treatment,and the ovarian volume in the observation group was significantly smaller than that in the control group(P<0.05).The ovulation rate was 78.05%in the observation group,compared to 70.19%in the control group(P>0.05).Conclusion:The combi-nation with Jianpi Yishen Huazhuo formula in the treatment of PCOS can not only improve clinical symptoms and effica-cy,but also ameliorate serum sex hormone levels,and reduce ovarian volume.Further research is warranted.
