By adding different potassium(KCl and KOH)into water glass, the effects of K on the synthesis of NaY zeoilte were investigated. The prepared samples were characterized by XRD,N2 adsorption-desorp-tion,and SEM.The results indicated that when the concentration of K+in water glass was 0.1 mol·L-1,both K compound had no negative impacts on synthesized NaY zeolite. When the K+concentration increased to 0.2 mol·L-1,a very small amount of heterocrystals were generated in the synthesis system with KCl added, and the relative crystallinity decreased to 74%.Further increasing the K+concentration to 0.3 mol·L-1 and 0.4 mol·L-1 resulted in a large amount of amorphous substances in the sample. However with the addition of KOH,the effect of KOH on the synthesis of NaY zeolite was much smaller than that of KCl at the same K addition amount. As the KOH increased, the relative crystallinity and specific surface area decresed. The SEM characterization results showed that even when the addition of KOH increased to 0.3 mol·L-1 or 0.4 mol·L-1,there was no amorphous substance formed in the synthesized sample, but a large amouant of chabasite appeared.
