Study and Design of Rogowski Coil for Partial Discharge Signal Measurement
As for the on-line measurement and monitoring requirement of partial discharge signals,a kind of broad-band(100 kHz-50 MHz)and high sensitivity(5.64 V/A)Rogowski coil with nickel zinc ferrite core is studied and de-signed in this paper.Firstly, the operating modes and frequency characteristics of the Rogowski coil are analyzed, and the conditions of the coil working in different operating modes as well as the influencing factors of the frequency band and its sensitivity of the coil under self-integration operating mode are derived. Then,Pspice is used to set up the equivalent circuit model for coil parameters scanning and verification of the derived theory. The integral condi-tions are simplified by changing the geometric parameters of the coil to determine the magnetic core size, coil turns and the optimal value of terminal resistance. Finally, five coils with the same parameters are fabricated and the square-wave response of the coils is analyzed by signal generator to verify their operating modes and,at the same time, the frequency band and sensitivity of the coils are also calibrated. The experimental results show that the de-signed Rogowski coil has good performance and can meet the measurement requirements of high frequency partial discharge signal.
