Because of the complex composition of municipal sludge, the properties of municipal sludge often exhibit fluctuations, which affects the reliability of the municipal sludge incineration process.By establishing the heat balance for the adiabatic bubbling fluidized bed incinerator, the thermal stability of the municipal sludge incinerator was analyzed from several aspects:fluctuations of sludge calorific value and humidity, burnout rate, residence time, the incinerator's ability to resist calorific value fluctuations, and the adjustment potential of the fluidized air temperature and feed load. The results show that the incinerator is sensitive to sludge properties, while the incinerator's own stability is relatively limited, with an 6%elastic range for calorific value change. For the complex municipal sludge,it is necessary to classify sludge before in-cineration and mix sludge inside the incinerator to achieve relatively stable sludge conditions based on received basis low calorific value.
