A method of calibrating single beam sounder using simulator based on double hydrophones
In order to overcome the defect that transducer of single beam sounder does not participate in the measurement process of calibrating single beam sounder using simulator,a method using conventional electronic equipments has good generality and flexibility, which contains the orchestration necessary to make double hydrophones be closed to the transducer of single beam sounder measured.Different single beam sounders were tested, using ultrasonic couplant to replace the anechoic pool as the acoustic medi-um.The results using this method are compared with those using standard pool method. The experimental test shows that at 200 kHz frequency, the delay time caused by the double hydrophones is less than 9μs,and the deviation of two methods is substantially less than 1%.This method can be used for fast measurement of single beam sounder in a large range.
