Optimization of Tap to Tap Time and Electricity Consumption in a 40 t Electric Arc Furnace
Electric arc furnace short process steelmaking is one of the main steelmaking methods in the world today,with significant advanta-ges in energy consumption and carbon emissions compared to longer processes.Shortening smelting time and reducing smelting power con-sumption is one of the important ways for current electric arc furnace steelmaking enterprises to enhance their core competitiveness.Reasonable scheduling processes,power supply and oxygen supply systems have a significant impact on the production efficiency,steel quality,steel ma-terial consumption,and furnace lining life of electric arc furnaces.Based on the production practice of a 40 t electric arc furnace in a certain steel plant,this paper introduces the high-efficiency production technology of electric arc furnace in response to the problems such as obstruc-ted driving operation,low energy utilization efficiency,and difficult matching of electricity and oxygen in a certain steel plant.By optimizing production organization,implementing scientific power supply,oxygen supply system,and other operations,the smelting efficiency of electric arc furnace is improved.By optimizing train scheduling,the productivity of the electric arc furnace has significantly increased,and the aver-age Tap to Tap time(TTT)has been shortened from 127 minutes to 110 minutes;by improving the selection of power supply gears during dif-ferent periods and setting the flow rate of oxygen guns,the electrical consumption has significantly decreased,and the electrical consumption per ton of steel smelting has decreased from 427 kW·h/t to 405 kW·h/t.
