Design of UART Controller with Receiver Wake-up Operation
UART is a communication peripheral on MCU chips. As MCU chips are widely used in handheld devices and wearable devices, support for low power becomes increasingly critical for MCU chips. To meet the low-power de-mands,traditional UART typically reduces power consumption by optimizing circuit structure and algorithms to minimize power consumption during data transmission. One common technique is to utilize low-power charge pump technology, which adjusts the supply voltage to a low working voltage to reduce power consumption. This paper describes a UART controller circuit with receiver wakeup operation, using sleep mode to reduce circuit power consumption.Experimental veri-fication shows that the UART receiver in sleep mode automatically wakes up under certain conditions and then receives data normally, thus reducing power consumption, and can be widely used in multi-machine communication.
