摘要

UART是MCU芯片的常见串口通信外设.随着MCU在手持设备、物联网设备的应用越来越广泛,对低功耗需求也是越来越高.传统的UART为了降低功耗主要通过优化电路结构和算法,减少数据传输时的功耗,比如最常见的低功耗电荷泵技术,将电源电压调整至低的工作电压,从而降低功耗.介绍一种支持四种接收唤醒机制的低功耗UART电路,使用睡眠模式来降低电路功耗.实验验证,睡眠的UART接收器会在指定条件下硬件自动唤醒,然后正常地接收数据,降低功耗的同时能广泛运用在多机通信中.

Abstract

UART is a communication peripheral on MCU chips.As MCU chips are widely used in handheld devices and wearable devices,support for low power becomes increasingly critical for MCU chips.To meet the low-power de-mands,traditional UART typically reduces power consumption by optimizing circuit structure and algorithms to minimize power consumption during data transmission.One common technique is to utilize low-power charge pump technology,which adjusts the supply voltage to a low working voltage to reduce power consumption.This paper describes a UART controller circuit with receiver wakeup operation,using sleep mode to reduce circuit power consumption.Experimental veri-fication shows that the UART receiver in sleep mode automatically wakes up under certain conditions and then receives data normally,thus reducing power consumption,and can be widely used in multi-machine communication.
