Packaging Watermarking Scheme Based on Sparse Differential Modulation
In the traditional field of packaging and printing, the use of printed barcodes has significant drawbacks,in-cluding susceptibility to damage, weak anti-counterfeiting capabilities, large space occupancy, and lengthy decoding time, all of which significantly impact production efficiency. To address these issues, this paper proposes an efficient packaging watermark algorithm based on sparse differential modulation(SDM).This technique embeds watermarks into the packaging print images that are imperceptible to the human eye but can be extracted with a camera, offering characteristics such as resistance to destruction, difficulty in forgery, and ease of recognition.Initially, digital information such as product informa-tion,production dates, and anti-counterfeiting labels are encoded to generate watermark blocks. The watermark information is then embedded by minutely adjusting the corresponding pixels in the device-independent CIE Lab color space, achieving a high level of imperceptibility and security.Sparse differential modulation is utilized at the embedding stage to modulate a single channel of the image, aiding in the precise alignment and localization of the image during watermark extraction.Ex-perimental results show that this algorithm is not only suitable for the information storage of packaging print images but also applicable to fields such as copyright protection.
