Effect of Different Types of Micro-Silica on Properties of Al2O3-SiC-C Iron Ditch Castable
In order to improve the performance of Al2O3-SiC-C iron ditch castable,using brown corundum,dense corundum,activated alumina powder,ball pitch,silicon as main raw materials,calcium aluminate cement as the binder,several kinds of micro-silica(1#SiO2,2#SiO2,3#SiO2)with different particle size distribution and chemical composition are added to study their effects on the properties of castable.The results show that the sample with 3#SiO2 micro-powder requires a large amount of water for molding,with the smallest bulk density,the highest apparent porosity,and the worst oxidation resistance;after heat treatment at 1 450℃for 3 h,the permanent linear change rate is low.The bulk density and apparent porosity of the samples with added 1#SiO2 micro-powder and 2#SiO2 micro-powder are equivalent.The hot modulus of rupture of the sample with added 1#SiO2 micro-powder is the lowest,while the slag resistance of the sample with 2#SiO2 micro-powder is the best;the comprehensive performance of the sample with added 2#SiO2 micro-powder is the best.
