Effect of White Corundum Fine Powder Replacing Plate Corundum on Properties of Corundum Castable
To improve the thermal shock resistance of corundum castable, increase the service life of corundum refractory materials, and achieve the research goal of cost reduction and efficiency improvement, the electric melted white corundum fine powder(≤0.074 mm)with mass fractions of 0,3%,6%,9%,and 12%were used instead of an equal amount of plate-shaped corundum fine powder(≤0.074 mm),and the effect of white corundum fine powder replacing plate-shaped corundum fine powder on the properties of corundum castable was studied. The experimental results show that:(1)Increasing the fine powder of electric melted white corundum results in a decrease of sample strength after medium and high temperature sintering,a decrease of the apparent porosity and linear change rate, and an enhancement of the thermal shock resistance.(2)The replacement of white corundum fine powder for plate corundum fine powder has no significant effect on the high-temperature flexural strength and corrosion resistance performance of the samples.(3)When the mass fraction of white corundum is 9%,the thermal shock resistance of the samples is the best;when the mass fraction of white corundum exceeds 9%,the strength of the samples decreases and the thermal shock resistance weakens.
