The Frontal Structure and Analysis on Mesoscale Cloud Characteristic during a Warm Zone Blizzard Process in North Xinjiang
By used the ground meteorological observatory hourly rainfall, conventional detection,1 °× 1 ° NCEP/ NCAR reanalysis and hourly infrared cloud image data, the heavy snow process in northern Xinjiang during 29 to 30 January 2014 was analyzed. The results showed that:(1) 500 hPa west jet in polar front zone and southwest jet in mid-latitude were intersected, then strengthened near the Balkhash lake and east into the north region of northern Xinjiang, which provided the favorable circulation background for blizzard weather process;high and low air jet stream were coupled,low-level convergence and high-level divergence, the upward movement was enhanced again under the topographic forcing and frontal uplifting, which is favorable dynamic lifting condition to blizzard happened;(2) the warm front appeared frontogenesis in the low level, frontal zone was tilt to the northeast as height increasing, warm moist air masses strongly climbed along the bottom cold wedge, and push them moving to north. The blizzard area was situated in near front of the frontier;(3) mesoscale cloud was formatted, merged and died in the banded cloud near the Balkhash lake, and the blizzard area and greater value area of TBB contour gradient around mesoscale cloud edge has good relationship.
