Experimental design of removing Congo red by iron-based metal-organic framework material
In this paper,a comprehensive chemical experiment involving the synthesis, characterization and adsorption properties of iron-based metal-organic framework material was designed. The iron-based metal-organic framework material Fe-BTC was synthesized by using Fe(NO3)3·9H2O and benzene-1,3,5-tricarboxylic acid(H3BTC)as raw materials. The phase of the composite Fe-BTC was characterized by the X-ray diffractometer(XRD).The ad-sorption effect of Fe-BTC on Congo red was tested by ultraviolet-visible spectrophotometer. The effect of contact time and initial concentration of Congo red on removing Congo red by iron-based metal-organic framework material Fe-BTC were discussed systematically. The results showed that the adsorption capacity of dye onto Fe-BTC increased with the increasing of dye concentration. The adsorption behavior of Congo red by Fe-BTC was analyzed by using the iso-thermal adsorption model and the adsorption kinetics model. This experiment has a moderate difficulty and strong com-prehensiveness,which is conducive to improving students'comprehensive experimental ability and innovation ability, stimulating students'learning interest, and cultivating students'chemical professionalism and environmental awareness.
