Experimental research on pretreatment of polymer-containing wastewater by low pressure progressive electro-catalytic demulsification equipment
In view of the problem that polymer-containing wastewater contains high concentration of oil and hard to be demulsificated,a low pressure progressive electro-catalytic demulsification process was designed. The said progressive electro-catalytic equipment is divided into three zones:upper, middle and lower, the electrode height are 5,5,and 15 cm respectively, and the electrode plate spacing are 0.4,1 and 2 cm respectively, which can effectively avoid the uneven distribution of electric field in the reactor.Through orthogonal experiments, the optimal operating conditions are determined to be as follows:the electric current is 20 A,the electrolysis time is 2 h,the demulsifier dosage is 400 mg/L.Under the above conditions, the mass concentration of oil in the effluent water of the treated polymer-containing wastewater was not above 1 000 mg/L,and the system could operate con-tinuously and stably.Compared to using demulsifiers alone, the treatment cost of the said process reduced by 24.64%,and demulsifier dosage was also reduced effectively.
