Research on preparation of high performance granular activated carbon from weak sticky coal in Ili of Xinjiang
Taking typtical weakly sticky coal in Ili region as raw material to prepare granular activated car-bon,the influence of different types of binders on the forming effect of activated carbon was investigated,and a non tar environmental friendly composite binder was innovatively developed;and then,the optimal economic and environmental forming scheme was obtained.The optimal process conditions were selected as follows:the car-bonization temperature was 580 ℃,the HRT was 60 min,the vapour flow was 8 mL/min,the activation time was 2 h,the activation temperature was 920 ℃.Finally,a high-quality 4 mm particle activated carbon product was prepared with a strength of 93.2%,the iodine value was 910 mg/g,the BET specific surface area was 727.75 m2/g,the carbon yield was 32%,which met the requirement of GB/T 7701-2008.The research on the adsorption performance of the product as well as its pore structure distribution situation indicated that,the said material had great utilization potentiality in wastewater treatment field.
