Submerged plants play an important ecological role in lakes and rivers,which are wildly used in ecological restoration.The current status of submerged plants in ecological restoration of water bodies was sum-marized;different environmental factors influencing submerged plants'growh,which includes:nutrient substance,water depth,water temperature,substrate,light,and so on,were emphatically elaborated.The effect of those fac-tors on ecological restoration by submerged plants was discussed.Combined with the problems of engineering ap-plication,the development direction of submerged plants ecological restoration technology was prospected.
