Objective To explore the effect of psychodynamic therapy on treatment compliance and psychological rehabilitation of patients with renal cell carcinoma. Methods A total of 114 patients with renal cell carcinoma were randomly divided into a control group and an experimental group. Control group received routine intervention, while experimental group received psychodynamic therapy. At 10 weeks of intervention, two groups of patients were evaluated for treatment compliance using a self-made compliance questionnaire. Self-rating anxiety scale ( SAS) and self-rating depression scale ( SDS) were used to assess the patients' mental health status, and the psychological resilience scale was used to assess their psychological resilience level. European EORTC Quality of Life Core Questionnaire-Cancer30 ( EORTC-QOL-C30 ) was used to assess the patients ' quality of life. Intermittent Fatigue Assessment Scale was used to assess the degree of cancer-related fatigue. Results The treatment compliance of experimental group was higher than that of control group ( P<0.05 ).SAS and SDS scores of both groups of the patients were lower than before the intervention, and they were lower in observation group than those in control group ( P<0.05 ).The scores of psychological resilience and various dimensions of quality of life in both groups of the patients were higher than those before the intervention, and they were higher in observation group than those in control group ( P<0.05 ).At 10 weeks of the intervention, the severity of cancer-related fatigue was significantly lower in observation group than that in control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Psychodynamic therapy can improve treatment compliance, promote psychological recovery, improve quality of life, and alleviate cancer-related fatigue of the patients with renal cell carcinoma.
