The Anti-Japanese Art Groups Joined by the Painter WU Kui in Guiyang
The painter WU Kui joined two important anti-Japanese art groups from 1936 to 1940 in Guiyang:Shatuo Drama Club and Zhuguang Concert,making important contributions to the Anti-Japanese War.In Shatuo Drama Club,WU Kui provided the drama club with a large number of distinctive stage art designs with his profound art skills and keen political insights.As the presi-dent,he carefully organized several anti-Japanese and national salvation activities,which allowed the concept of saving the coun-try deeply rooted in the hearts of the people by inspiring their patriotic enthusiasm.During his stay in the Zhuguang Concert,WU Kui actively participated in the planning and organizing various activities.Through concerts,street speeches and other forms,he widely publicized the concept of anti-Japanese and national salvation,injecting new vitality into anti-Japanese activities.
